The member of the month for June is, Andrea! Andrea has been at ECCF for 2 years now and continues to crush it! You know that person who somehow manages to red time at 5:30am? Yeah, that's Andrea! She is always pushing to give her best and is an inspiration to those who workout along side her. Currently, and pretty much always, she is training for her next marathon. Occupation: CPA and am self employed - produce and sell a sports nutrition product

In general, what is your athletic background? Been an endurance athlete since my late teens. I rowed in college for a small program but then continued and trained and competed at an elite level. I still row but now my primary focus is on running marathons.

How did you learn about Emerald City CrossFit (ECCF)? I live in the neighborhood so I've passed by a million times. When I was in need of a new place to train I joined up.

How has ECCF changed your life, lifestyle, and level of fitness? I have only been at ECCF a couple of years but have been Crossfitting for at least 8 years. I can't say my lifestyle has changed much but I love working hard and having fun with other people and ECCF's great coaches and athletes is integral to that.

List short/long term goals you would like to accomplish through ECCF:  Since I've been an athlete *forever* there are levels I can never reach again, however my goal is to hang on to the fitness I've worked for. I still have some goals in running - I was able to run my marathon PR of 3:19:18 last fall. ECCF helps me work on the things I would never have the discipline to do on my own like strength work and upper body work. Even the WODs that have running will usually push me to do something I wouldn't do on my own.

What do you like most about ECCF? THE PEOPLE! Everyone is working to improve, no matter what level they currently are.

What is your favorite CrossFit movement? I'm good at burpees and bear crawl, but I like doing Olympic lifting because there's always room for improvement.

What is your least favorite CrossFit movement? Ring dips

Favorite WOD: Can't say I have a favorite - I perform better at body weight/met-con but benefit from WODs with heavy weights.

What are you currently doing to try to improve your nutrition?  Reducing my sugar intake.

Favorite movie: I like action movies but I'm a sucker for monsters - If Godzilla or Jurassic Park show up on T.V. I have to watch

Favorite and/or current book: Too many favorites. I'm currently reading "All the Light We Cannot See" and "Twelve Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos"

Favorite music genre/artist: I listen to almost anything but like things with melodies.

What do you like to do outside the gym? Spend time with my family (husband, 3 kids and two dogs)
